OH I almost forgot to mention the new found relationship between Caden and Gizmo! Caden is absolutely in LOVE with his puppy! He smiles the biggest smiles when he finds Gizmo and he loves kisses. Gizmo is great with him.. even when Caden manages to get a good handful of his fur, the dog remains calm.
So far he seems to enjoy the ducklings that we got yesterday as well. We’ll see as they grow bigger.. haha

I've been a slacker :(
I currently have a very unhappy boy crying in his crib! He kept showing me signs that he was tired, so I tried to put him down for a quick nap. No such luck.
I’ve kind of slacked the last week with so much, yet so little going on all at the same time. We had a GREAT weekend last weekend with the rugby playoffs and a visit from Nana! Oh how much fun Caden and her had.. it was a treat to watch! Visits are too few and far between, we’ll have to work on that
On Friday the 23rd, we had Caden’s 4 month check up. I’m happy to announce that he is 24.5 inches long and 12lbs 4oz now. He is in the third percentile for babies, however small he may be though, the doctor is thrilled with how well he is growing. He told us a couple times how good of a job we must be doing to have such a happy, sweet and beautiful baby!! We are very lucky, Caden makes it pretty easy on us I think. <3
So Saturday we spent the day at the pitch all day and we were blessed with much nicer weather than we were expecting. We all got some much needed sunshine! The Renegades demolished Vancouver 53-0 (I think.. lol) YEAAH!!! We checked into the hotel later that night and it was really nice. They did great renovations to it. The social that night was in the dome connected to the hotel…BBQ, karaoke, drinks and a whole lot of throwing people into the pool. haha good fun! We moved the party to the Horse and Cow and tore it up. We had a blasty blast partying it up with those who came out from other teams but mostly hanging out with the Seattle Quake. Love those boys!!
Sunday Funday was also a recovery day. haha I layed on the sidelines for the match against The Quake. We did not win that one… It was another nice day though, so no complaints here! The day could have ended about 4 hours earlier than it did, IMO. It was nice to come home and spend the night with Brian’s Mom, even though I passed out during the movie! I’m lame. lol
OK so this past week, what has been going on with the boy???!! Hmmmmm well the little mister LOVES LOVES LOVES his feet now. He entertains himself by holding on to his toes and staring at his feet. Its really amazing the changes you get to watch from day to day.
I screamed for Brian to come into the bedroom the other night, as I was doing our nightly “baby massage” and getting Caden ready for bed the little bugger was having a blast and laughing away and talking up a storm. ”AHHH booo, ahhhh booo” He says this a lot but its then that he bagan to make the razzing noises on his own! It was the cutest thing. So bed time got pushed back a little, lol so we could all play a little longer.
Well I will add some more later. I just went in and checked on the little man and he has flipped himself over and looks so cute.. he is sleeping on his tummy, head resting on one arm.

Who's that baby?
I am currently sitting on the couch watching the Sens and Pens game (and I am sure of myself that I would not be upset it Crosby had his knees slashed..lol) and Caden is laying on his playmat on the floor by my feet. He is making me giggle with his babble to the baby in the mirror, as he rolls on his side and meets his reflection. He then rolls back to his back and swats at the purple elephant a few times before rolling back to say hi to his new friend. Quite a handsome friend too, I must add. lol
We have had a pretty great day all in all. A couple rough patches with the little one being fussy for dad and showing off the power of his vocal cords. I would also like to say that I went in to get Caden from his crib where he was “cooling off” to find him on his belly. It has only taken TWO days since my last update for him to turn himself from back to front. So far it’s only once, but he definitely has the idea. Little man also got to see his godmother and some friends from my work today as we stopped by for a quick visit through after passing my driving test!! I am once again a licensed driver! I am very excited to be able to drive that awesome Christmas present from that wonderful husband of mine.
We’re anxiously awaiting Nana’s visit.. rugby couldn’t come to a faster end tonight! We are in for a super fun weekend!

Rolling, rolling, rolling
I had this idea to start blogging so that we could have friends and family read updates on Caden and our lives at their own choice, rather than spamming facebook every time our dear boy does something one of us deems cool. Unfortunately I am starting this a little late. Better late than never though, I guess! 
Caden can officially roll over from his belly to his back. I am pretty sure its only to the left right now and he is very close to rolling from his back to his tummy. I am giving him a week..TOPS! He LOVES tummy time now, which is a big improvement from less than a month ago. He laughs and squeels with delight when he looks at himself in the mirror on his playmat or bats the toys I put in from of him.
He likes to spend up to 20 minutes at a time in his excersaucer. He is still a little small for it but he has a blast. There is a motion sensored toy on there that plays music so when he gets excited and jumps a little he can set that off which gets him laughing. He likes to watch the toys that dangle in front of him but can’t quite reach them yet.
Caden made it apparent to me the other day while watching the hockey game that he likes “House of Pain” when he heard “jump around” he started laughing. I then put some on for him and we had a great time laughing and dancing. I can put him in his bumbo and play him songs from the “House of Pain” pandora channel (which include old Dr. Dre, Eminem, Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, Snoop, etc..) and I am convinced he loves it.. I sing to him the lyrics that I know and we laugh a bunch.
Since starting Caden sleeping in his crib, I started his bath tub routine at 7pm and in bed by 7:30ish.. he quickly altered that schedule to bath time at 6pm. We are trying to sleep train a little right now and trying to get him to go to sleep a little later. We’re at 8pm right now and he is normally dead tired by that time. We’ve had a couple great nights of 8+ hours of sleep at a time. We’ve also had a couple nights as of late where dear sweet Caden would wake up every two hours. Teething babies are a joy. haha. We have no visual evidence of a cutting tooth but he’s demonstrating most tell tale signs.
I will keep updating this as often as I can and as often as something new and exciting happens. Caden has been napping in his swing for the last 3 hrs (Oh my!!) and I’ve had the chance to work out, eat lunch, write this and now it’s time to try and squeeze in a shower.
